Introduction

During my internship, I executed the corporate website development for PT Arkatama Multi Solusindo (arkatama.id). PT Arkatama is an IT consulting and software development firm that needed a modern digital presence. As a WordPress developer intern, I took charge of building key page layouts using WordPress, Elementor, and custom CSS. My primary goal was to create a clean, highly professional web platform that effectively communicates their technology services to prospective corporate clients.

Project Overview

PT Arkatama Multi Solusindo required an upgraded corporate website. The new platform needed to highlight their service offerings, IT expertise, and corporate profile. Their previous web layout lacked visual consistency and clean UI hierarchy. These factors made it difficult for visitors to explore their solutions. As an intern developer, I was assigned to reconstruct core web pages. I focused on making service details accessible, visually engaging, and fully responsive across all screens.

My Role

As the WordPress developer intern, I handled the front-end implementation for core sections of the site. I worked closely with the project team to understand client goals and design wireframes. Using Elementor as my primary page builder, I constructed custom layouts and structured the page architecture. Whenever standard builder modules were too restrictive, I authored custom CSS code to achieve the exact design requirements.

Design & Development Process

I followed a structured workflow to deliver clean, maintainable code throughout the project.

First, I reviewed the project brief and audited existing layout templates. Working in WordPress, I used Elementor to assemble core structural blocks. I prioritized clean typography, balanced whitespace, and strong call-to-action sections.

Second, I refined the visual layer with custom code. Page builders can sometimes create repetitive styles. To prevent this, I wrote custom CSS rules for button hover states, card shadows, and layout spacing.

Third, I focused on mobile responsiveness. I systematically adjusted breakpoints to ensure every layout rendered correctly on smartphones and tablets. Finally, I optimized asset loading and checked cross-browser performance before handing off the project for launch.

Challenges

Managing a corporate website development project for an IT consulting firm presented distinct design challenges. The site needed to display technical service details without overwhelming the reader. Balancing dense text descriptions with visually engaging cards required precise styling adjustments.

I resolved this challenge by writing modular custom CSS flexbox and grid utility classes. These classes allowed service cards to maintain consistent heights and padding on desktop screens. On smaller screens, the layout gracefully collapsed into single columns, preserving clean readability across all mobile devices.
