Introduction
I recently completed a heavy machinery rental website project for PT Dilmas Eka Indonesia (DEI). The company operates as a leading heavy equipment rental provider across Indonesia, offering cranes, manlifts, forklifts, and project material transport. As the WordPress developer on this project, I took full responsibility for building their corporate web presence. My primary goal was to construct a dynamic, high-performance platform that presents their machinery fleet clearly to large-scale industrial contractors.
Project Overview
PT Dilmas Eka Indonesia required a modern corporate website to showcase their extensive rental fleet and project capabilities. Their previous web presentation made it difficult for site visitors to explore technical machinery specs and capacity details. Therefore, I was tasked with building an upgraded digital catalog from the ground up. I designed the platform to establish market authority, categorize heavy equipment lines, and streamline rental inquiry workflows for B2B clients.
My Role
As the lead WordPress developer, I managed the entire development cycle from content architecture to final site launch. I collaborated with stakeholders to organize complex machinery categories into intuitive visual layouts. Using Elementor alongside Crocoblock dynamic tools, I constructed flexible listing templates. Additionally, I authored custom CSS to polish design details and guarantee responsive performance across all viewports.
Design & Development Process
My development workflow prioritized speed, clean architecture, and intuitive user navigation.
First, I configured the core WordPress structure and mapped out the heavy equipment database. To handle various machinery types efficiently, I implemented Crocoblock JetEngine to build Custom Post Types, custom fields, and interactive listing grids.
Second, I assembled the page layouts in Elementor. Standard page modules lacked the structure needed for detailed machinery spec tables. To fix this, I wrote modular custom CSS rules for product cards, capacity indicators, and call-to-action buttons.
Third, I focused on mobile responsiveness. Project managers in the field often search for equipment rentals on smartphones. I adjusted breakpoints to ensure fast loading times and clear navigation on smaller screens. Finally, I tested the filtering grid before launching the site.
Key Features
- Dynamic Equipment Fleet Catalog: I built structured listing grids using Crocoblock to showcase cranes, manlifts, and forklifts.
- Custom Machinery Filters: I configured search filters so prospective clients can sort equipment by type and capacity.
- Mobile-First Responsive Design: I ensured all pages render cleanly across desktop, tablet, and mobile viewports.
- Tailored UI Styling: I authored custom CSS to polish hover effects, card borders, and specification tables.
- Direct Inquiry System: I placed prominent lead buttons throughout the site to connect clients with sales representatives.
- Scalable Backend Setup: I structured custom post types so internal staff can add new fleet assets effortlessly.
Challenges
Executing a heavy machinery rental website project involves managing complex technical specifications for diverse industrial equipment. Displaying lifting capacities, boom lengths, and engine specs clearly without overloading mobile layouts presented a distinct development challenge.
I solved this by building dynamic listing templates in Crocoblock JetEngine combined with custom CSS flexbox layouts. This approach allowed specification data to stack neatly on smaller screens. As a result, technical details remain clear on smartphones while maintaining a clean grid layout on desktop displays.
Technologies Used
- WordPress: Core content management system powering the corporate platform.
- Elementor: Visual page builder utilized for section design and layout assembly.
- Crocoblock (JetEngine): Suite of dynamic plugins used to build Custom Post Types and custom filter grids.
- Custom CSS: Written to override default builder styles and implement responsive micro-interactions.
Project Outcome
The completed site provides PT Dilmas Eka Indonesia with a professional digital front in the heavy equipment sector. Through my development work, industrial contractors can now browse fleet availability and request rental quotes effortlessly. The dynamic Crocoblock integration simplified content updates for their team, while my custom CSS enhancements provided a polished visual experience.
